The Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the sociology of food. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary research project that explores the provisioning of meals across generations and how different degrees of plasticity in food habits can inform a theoretical reconfiguration of habits.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work closely with the principal investigator and other project members to conduct fieldwork in Denmark among empty nesters, investigating resistance to changing food habits in a generation that has grown up in a period of vast economic growth. Your primary task will be to develop critical analyses and produce high-quality academic texts on the topic.

The project is a collaboration between the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Sociology, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be employed at the Department of Sociology and will contribute to the department's research activities in the areas of social mobility, facilitative cultures and structures that tackle climate change, migration and processes of integration, and the role of education in (re)production of inequalities.

We are looking for a highly qualified and motivated individual with a strong background in sociology or anthropology and experience in qualitative data collection and ethnographic fieldwork. Excellent Danish and English language skills, both written and spoken, are essential.
