Job Description

As a Senior Software Architect at OMEGA, Inc., you will be responsible for leading the development of measurement systems with inputs from a broad range of sensor and signal types within sound & vibration, mechanical & structural.

The successful candidate will help the department develop applications that belong to a bigger measurement system which also includes specialized hardware (Sensors, DAQs), network components, cloud solutions etc. Most of our current applications are Windows applications but, we also work with Apps, cloud, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Executes a range of tasks across the full life cycle in line with agreed software development methodology, including and not limited to the following; and any other duties reasonably required from time to time:

  2. Architecture & Software Design

  3. Lead and facilitate the definition and development of product architectures

  4. Provide technical guidance and governance on product development and integration (e.g., by elaborating the system architecture; validating technology assumptions; evaluating and challenge the teams on implementation alternatives)

  5. Coordinate target architecture across multiple products, in conjunction with appropriate stakeholders

  6. Contribute to general software development activities based on specific needs and in agreement with teams, e.g., conducting code reviews; exploring technology choices during spikes; etc. The extent of direct involvement is variable pursuant to need

  7. Champion the importance and value of system design principles, patterns, and best practices

  8. Lead design activities for strategic, large development programs, including development of effective implementation strategies consistent with specified requirements, architectures and constraints, as appropriate to enable delivery of target outcome

  9. Review systems designs and ensure appropriate methods, tools and techniques are applied effectively. Make recommendations and assess and manage associated risks

  10. Advocate for testing and quality

Requirements:

  • Min 5 years of proven experience in Software Architecture, methodologies, approaches and techniques, preferably within applications supporting physical domain analytics, both for new development and for continuous improvement of existing products and support of legacy products

  • Proficiency in relevant applications and languages (primarily .NET and JavaScript), environments, systems software, packages, platforms

  • Proven successful delivery of working software in a dynamic and international environment

  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills / mindset
