Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Alstom Full time

At Alstom, we understand the intricacies of transport networks and what drives mobility. Our diverse portfolio spans high-speed trains, metros, monorails, trams, turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, serving our global customers.

We are seeking an engineer for the Product Introduction department in Copenhagen, responsible for testing and troubleshooting of new train sets to be delivered by Alstom over the next several years. If you're interested in supporting the testing and reliability growth of new train sets in Denmark and during test trips across Europe, this role might be suitable for you.

In connection with winning a tender to deliver at least 103 Future trains to Danish railways, a Product Introduction department has been established in Copenhagen to ensure the quality of deliveries planned for 2026. A service department will also be set up to handle maintenance of the new train sets. Once all train sets have been delivered, employees from the Product Introduction department will become part of the service department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support technical tests and investigations during the warranty period for new trainsets.
  • Determine the root cause of errors to develop corrective and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with the PI Trouble Shooter to define the troubleshooting strategy.
  • Provide input to PI management regarding customer satisfaction and product improvements.
  • Ensure complete and high-quality reporting of errors and deviations in Alstom's Failure Management database.
  • Promote Reliability Growth through investigations of reported faults/incidents and implementation of reliability forecasting.
  • Support technical reviews with internal and external suppliers, partners, customers, and authorities.
  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of Field Modification (FM).

For this role, you should have a relevant engineering degree or extensive experience in trains. In addition to theoretical knowledge, you should be able to apply your skills practically. Traveling and participating in test drives and visits to internal suppliers across Europe is also expected.

You should meet the following requirements:

  • An engineering degree (electrical or mechanical) or relevant experience that can compensate for an engineering degree.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify the root causes of faults on a train set.
  • Experience working with trains is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of workplace safety.
  • Ability to produce well-structured reports in databases, etc.
  • Flexibility in relation to travel, as you will periodically drive different train sets being tested in Europe.
  • Proficiency in English and preference for Danish in writing and speech.

Alstom offers an exciting job opportunity in a global organisation focused on sustainable transportation solutions. You'll join a Product Introduction team under development in Denmark, taking on a crucial role as one of the first members to later train others. The workplace is located in central Copenhagen.

Alstom fosters an agile, inclusive, and responsible culture, offering excellent opportunities for career growth, learning, and advancement. We value our employees' contributions and strive to provide them with opportunities to reach their full potential while being respected and valued as individuals.

Travel is expected for approximately 120 days per year in European countries where the various train sets are manufactured and tested, reducing over time.

No prior experience with trains is required; we assure you'll be proud when riding one with friends or family after joining us. If you're ready for the challenge, we look forward to hearing from you.
