About the Position

The successful candidate will be expected to conduct original research aimed at improving our understanding of the interaction between Earth's magnetic field and the solar-terrestrial environment, particularly in Earth's polar regions.

This includes analysing and interpreting magnetic data gathered from ground-based sources (such as the Greenland magnetometer array) and satellite data (e.g., magnetic field measurements, plasma convection, plasma density, and temperature).

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct original research on the interaction between Earth's magnetic field and the solar-terrestrial environment
  • Analyse and interpret magnetic data from ground-based and satellite sources
  • Develop and apply computational models to simulate physical processes in the polar ionosphere and magnetosphere
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve ambitious research goals
