Neuroscientist in Brain Circuit Conduction Velocity Mapping

The Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance at Copenhagen University Hospital Hvidovre is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our Microstructure and Plasticity Group.

We are looking for an individual with a strong background in neuroscience, experience in animal handling and stereotaxic surgeries, and a proven track record in histology and microscopic imaging. The successful candidate will be expected to establish translational animal models of neurodegenerative and demyelination diseases, use optogenetic techniques to ablate and stimulate specific neuronal populations, and measure and analyze the functional readout of brain stimulations using electrophysiology.

The postdoc will be part of a cross-disciplinary research team and will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and curiosity by contributing to other scientific projects. We offer a dynamic and supportive environment with access to state-of-the-art MR research infrastructure, including a pre-clinical 7T Bruker MR scanner and six whole-body MR scanners.

• PhD degree in Neuroscience or corresponding qualifications within circuit or degeneration neuroscience.
• Experience working with animals and established/used animal models.
• Documented practical skills in animal handling, stereotaxic surgeries, and anesthesia.
• Experience with tissue preparation for IHC and microscopic imaging used in scientific publications.
• Interest in combining different imaging and functional measurements, e.g., histology and MRI.
