Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical System Design Engineer to join our Grid Connection department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for wind turbines and wind farms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power system engineering, with experience in developing PSCAD models and converter control algorithms. You will be familiar with grid code requirements and have a good understanding of transmission and distribution networks, as well as power electronics and electrical machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Wind Turbine and/or Wind Farms Regulator electrical simulation models in Electromagnetic Transient models with specific features (snapshot, encryption, multi-run).
  • Develop converter control algorithms for grid features.
  • Integrate DLLs or automatic generated code.
  • Test model performance and analysis results. Provide inputs to other departments.
  • Assess model performance against WTG capabilities.
  • Analyze Modelling issues analysis.
  • Documentation of activities: design report, validation reports, user manuals.
  • Develop automatization tools so that they can run simulations and create reports automatically.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in power system engineering, with a focus on wind turbine and wind farm design.
  • Strong knowledge of PSCAD software and its applications in wind turbine and wind farm design.
  • Experience with converter control algorithms and their implementation in PSCAD models.
  • Good understanding of grid code requirements and transmission and distribution networks.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
