We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be employed as a PhD student under the supervision of Professor Matthias Christandl with co-supervision by Professor Markus Reiher from ETH Zurich in Switzerland.
About the ProjectThe project focuses on the development of new quantum algorithms for chemical systems, which will have significant impacts on various fields such as chemistry, physics, and materials science. The PhD student will work closely with our research group to design, implement, and test these algorithms using state-of-the-art numerical methods and software tools.
Responsibilities- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for solving complex chemical problems
- Analyze and optimize the performance of these algorithms using theoretical and numerical methods
- Collaborate with other researchers to develop and apply these algorithms to real-world chemical systems
To be eligible for this position, applicants should have a strong background in one or more of the following areas: theoretical chemistry, scientific computing, theoretical physics, quantum information, and computation. A master's degree in a relevant field is required, and a solid understanding of programming languages such as Python or C++ is essential.
