Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead and evolve our global data privacy program. As Chief Data Protection Officer - Global Program Lead, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining our privacy program, providing expert guidance to stakeholders, and fostering a culture of data protection awareness across the business.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain our comprehensive data protection program, encompassing preparation and execution of annual GDPR plans, risk assessments, and process mapping.
  • Drive data protection and information security processes, facilitating internal audits to ensure compliance with group policies and controls.
  • Advise stakeholders in designing, deploying, and managing technology and process solutions to mitigate the potential of data compromise.
  • Conduct data protection training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.

Legal Support

  • Evaluate and mitigate legal risks.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and support to the business on data protection, IT projects, e-privacy, e-commerce, and marketing law.
  • Review and draft commercial contracts, including data processing agreements.

Your Background

  • A Law school/university degree in law or business law (LL.M or a corresponding degree).
  • +3 years of post-graduate experience from in-house or private practice within data protection and relevant legal fields.
  • Proven experience working with data protection, existing and emerging technology, digitalization, and consumer protection.
  • Experience with commercial law and contract drafting.
  • Bonus points for obtaining Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or Certified Information Privacy Management (CIPM).

You'll Work Closely With:

  • The Finance and Legal team as the privacy function.
  • The IT-security function.
  • The WPP global privacy team.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to integrate complex legal concepts into the business in cooperation with different stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent English language skills.
