ERC Funded Researcher in Philosophy and Gender Studies

Københavns Universitet (KU) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking ERC-funded research project on women's intellectual contribution to the Nordic Enlightenment.
The successful candidate will join the Department of Communication at the Faculty of Humanities and work under the guidance of PI Sabrina Ebbersmeyer on investigating women's writings and their agency on men's thought about women and gender equality.
About the ProjectThe core of this project is to bring to light and critically assess women's intellectual contribution to the Nordic Enlightenment by examining a text corpus consisting of unpublished material and published texts written by more than a hundred women in Scandinavia.
The guiding hypothesis is that the Nordic way of women's Enlightenment significantly differs from developments prevalent in other regions of Europe, and that women played a decisive role in creating a sustainable identification of the Nordic countries with gender equality.
Job Requirements- A master's degree in philosophy or a neighbouring discipline is required. The applicant must have submitted a master's thesis for which they have received pre-approval at the time of application.
- Danish, Swedish, and Latin reading skills are necessary.
- Familiarity with methods in the history of philosophy and gender analysis is beneficial.
- High-level academic English writing and speaking skills are required.
