Key Responsibilities- Lead the transfer of cell factories and bioprocesses through internal milestones
- Formulate strategies for upscaling bioprocesses and develop robust fermentation processes
- Plan and execute batch, fed-batch, and repeated batch cultivations for bacteria and yeast on a pilot scale (up to 100L)
- Analyze data from fermentation processes and establish key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Digest and document work in cloud-based informatics platforms, including analysis and interpretation of results
- Collaborate with chemical and process engineers to develop downstream separation and purification processes
As part of our close-knit team of seven people, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, including fermentation and downstream engineers, an analytical chemist, a technician, and the Pilot Plant Manager. We foster a culture of collaboration with scientists, strain engineers, economic modeling teams, third-party vendors, and technology providers.
This role requires hands-on experience with microbial fermentation, particularly scale-up. As a member of our small team, you must be willing to take on various tasks and show flexibility in scheduling outside standard hours when processes demand it. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for establishing strong relationships with diverse partners.
