Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet (KU) Full time

Københavns Universitet (KU) seeks a research scientist to join its Institute of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management. As a research scientist, you will work on a two-year project focused on quantifying emissions of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) in Arctic tundra using remote sensing techniques.

The project involves developing and applying new multispectral and hyperspectral imaging techniques using data from unmanned aerial systems, satellite data, and field work. You will be responsible for a project work package in collaboration with the project PI, including method development and applied work in image/point cloud classification of plant species/diversity, and assessments of photosynthesis and BVOC emissions.

Field work will be an integral part of the project, including trips to Sub-Arctic Sweden and Greenland. To qualify for this position, you must have a PhD-degree in computer science, computer vision, geosciences, or similar topics. Experience with operating unmanned aerial systems is not necessary, but prior experience with computer scripting and excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are essential.

As a research scientist at Københavns Universitet (KU), you will contribute to the university's research goals and collaborate with other researchers in the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management.
