The Chemical Compliance Manager is responsible for the implementation and management of chemical control compliance initiatives within the EAME region (including UK, EU REACH, Turkey REACH, EAEU, etc.) specifically for our technical enzymes product line (including Biofuels, Fabric & Household Care, Textile Processing, and Designed Enzymatic Polysaccharides). This role involves close collaboration with consultants, the IFF toxicology team, and members of the Chemical Substance Registration group to oversee budgeting, sales, and procurement of registration data, ensuring timely and accurate submission of registration dossiers.

Additionally, the Chemical Compliance Manager serves as a key liaison for the Enzyme Business, influencing strategic business decisions and representing IFF in industry working groups to safeguard our regulatory interests. This position requires interaction with various stakeholders within the Enzyme Business Unit, as well as vendors and customers, to ensure compliance throughout the supply chain.

This role reports to the Head of Chemical Substance Registration and can be based in various locations within Europe, with remote work options available. Occasional travel within Europe (approximately 10%) may be required.

Key Responsibilities


• Actively participate in industry working groups to advocate for IFF's regulatory interests.

• Manage ongoing registration projects in the EAME region (including UK, EU REACH, Turkey REACH, etc.).

• Develop and submit lead registration dossiers in IUCLID (covering Substance Identity, analytical data, usage, CSR, etc.).

• Assist risk assessors with CHESAR tasks and Exposure Scenario formulation.

• Oversee REACH compliance activities such as substance volume tracking, Only Representative coverage, and financial reimbursements related to annual reviews.

• Provide guidance on enzyme registrations in regions outside of EAME (including K-REACH, TSCA, etc.).

• Offer support to both internal and external customers regarding chemical compliance inquiries.

Candidate Profile


• A Master's degree or higher in Biotechnology, Biology, Toxicology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the Biotechnology or Chemical sectors, ideally with a focus on enzymes.

• Proven track record of involvement in industry association groups.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse and global teams.

• Proficient in IT applications and adaptable to new systems.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Excellent project management capabilities.

• Proficiency in English is required.
