DTU Electro is seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher to join our innovative project on photonic crystallization for flexible thin-film solar cells. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge techniques for antimony chalcogenide (Sb₂X₃) films, exploring solution-based methods and rapid thermal annealing (RTA) and flash lamp annealing (FLA).

The research will focus on crystallizing antimony chalcogenide-based absorbers (Sb₂X₃ compounds, including Sb₂S₃, Sb₂Se₃, and mixed chalcogenides) using these novel techniques to create highly efficient, flexible, and sustainable solar cells.

The PhD researcher will work closely with the Thin-Film Photovoltaics group at DTU Risø campus and collaborate with researchers from the Research Laboratory for Thin Films and Photovoltaics at Empa, Switzerland. Our team is comprised of experts from various fields, providing a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop photonic annealing and crystallization techniques for Sb₂X₃ films
  • Analyze and optimize the physical and electrical properties of materials and devices
  • Collaborate with international research partners at DTU and Empa

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with thin-film deposition techniques and characterization methods
  • Strong interest in photovoltaics, renewable energy, and photonic processes
