Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Head of Fermentation to lead our bioprocess development efforts. This role combines cutting-edge experiment design, data interpretation, and cross-team collaboration with strategic communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all fermentation team activities, translating overall strategy into objectives and tasks
  • Manage process scale-up from lab to commercial production, overseeing technology transfer and sustainable process development
  • Design and analyze experiments, interpret data, and present results to drive process understanding and optimization
  • Coordinate cross-team collaborations, including with external partners and suppliers
  • Develop standard operating procedures and contribute to patent filings
About You
  • 5+ years of hands-on industrial fermentation experience
  • Relevant education (PhD or MSc) in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field
  • Industrial expertise with scale-up of fermentation processes from lab to full commercial scale bioreactors
  • Extensive experience in setting up and running fermentations at lab scale
  • Proven ability in interpreting scientific data and solid understanding of statistics
  • An effective communicator skilled in translating scientific data into actionable decisions and seamlessly engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
  • An open mind and a positive mindset to achieve results as a team
  • A sense of urgency and a get-sh*t-done attitude
