Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Health Equity

The University of Copenhagen seeks a highly qualified Associate Professor of Epidemiology and Health Equity to join the Department of Public Health. The successful candidate will lead a research agenda that integrates modern methods from Epidemiology and Artificial Intelligence in the analysis of high-resolution life course data to understand and predict public health issues with a specific focus on health equity.
Responsibilities- Initiate and lead an independent research line on Epidemiology and Health Equity at an international competitive level, including publication and academic dissemination of results.
- Acquire competitive funding and provide research-based teaching in Epidemiology at a pre- and post-doctorate level, including associated examination.
- Contribute to the university's internal and external academic activities, including research leadership, guidance, and supervision of researchers.
- Engage in public debate and share knowledge with society, including participation in academic assessments.
- Research qualifications at the level that can be achieved by satisfactorily completing a period of employment as an assistant professor/postdoc, but may also be obtained in other ways.
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies, including research-based teaching in Epidemiology.
- Communicative skills in writing and speaking, including collaborative and communicative skills.
- Research experience within Epidemiology or Data Science with a specific focus on health equity.
The position is a permanent position, and the average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2020.
