We are looking for a talented researcher to join our team at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work on a 24-month project focused on upcycling food waste through fermentation-based sustainable protein and fat extraction.
Research FocusThe selected candidate will focus on developing innovative and sustainable solutions in food processing, exploring new sources of bio-functional metabolites that can be applied in various food formulations. This involves:
- Exploring emerging technologies for innovative and sustainable food processing.
- Developing new solutions to reduce food waste and improve food product development.
- Collaborating with other research groups to advance knowledge in the field.
- Disseminating research findings through publications, presentations, and teaching.
You will be responsible for:
- Conducting research activities on fermentation processes for food waste valorization.
- Developing new food products and ingredients using green processing techniques.
- Characterizing food materials and formulations using advanced techniques.
- Collaborating with other researchers to advance knowledge in the field.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A PhD degree (or thesis submitted and accepted) in Food Science and Technology, Food Chemistry, Process Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in fermentation processes for food waste valorization and bioprocess optimization.
- Experience in protein and fat extraction using green processing techniques.
- Familiarity with food ingredient functionality and interactions.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for project progress and quality.
