We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as a Tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Ecological Economics, with expertise in system complexity at different scales and its impact on economic, environmental, and social interactions.

The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic research environment, collaborating with colleagues from diverse disciplines to address pressing issues such as sustainable resource management, climate change, and development.

Job Description:

This tenure-track assistant professorship/associate professorship is a key appointment in the Department of Food and Resource Economics, Faculty of Science, University of Copenhagen. The position is open to both tenure-track assistant professors and associate professors, who will be expected to make significant contributions to the department's research and teaching activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in ecological economics, focusing on system complexity and its implications for economic, environmental, and social systems.
  • Develop and teach courses on ecological economics, sustainability, and related topics at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present at international conferences.
  • Secure external funding to support research projects and contribute to the department's overall research agenda.
  • Collaborate with faculty members, postdoctoral researchers, and students to advance the department's research mission.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in Ecological Economics or a related field.
  • Strong theoretical foundation and analytical skills.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure external funding and manage research projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
