The Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University seeks a highly skilled researcher to join our team as a postdoctoral researcher. The position is part of the Westberg Lab, which focuses on functional protein design.

Key Responsibilities

As a Postdoc, your primary duties will consist of:

  • Designing and optimizing protein sequences using computational methods
  • Purifying and characterizing proteins using biophysical and spectroscopic techniques
  • Developing and applying machine learning algorithms for protein design and analysis

You will be working closely with Assistant Professor Michael Westberg and contribute to the development of novel light-controlled protein tools for studying biological processes.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field
  • A proven track record of research experience in protein design and characterization
  • An interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving and collaboration

Prior experience with machine learning algorithms, structural biology techniques, and mammalian cell culture would be beneficial but not required.
