Research Scientist for Biochar Technology Development

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team as a postdoc on biochar catalysed degradation of halogenated pollutants. This project has shown great potential for fast and full degradation of chlorinated ethylenes in soil environments using composites of biochar and reduced iron materials.
The tasks associated with this role include:
- Developing and testing biochar-oxidant composites for fast and full degradation of chlorinated compounds;
- Assessing performance of optimized reaction systems at the column scales with real contaminated soils and groundwater;
- Comparison of performance of optimized reaction system to existing remediation technologies.
The postdoc will work closely with our team, contributing to ongoing laboratory experiments and field investigations, as well as teaching responsibilities. Excellent interpersonal skills and experience with collaborative work in multinational teams are essential.
