About the Position
  • Research: Pursue original scientific work at an international level, focusing on biomarkers and biomechanics as essential components of comprehensive pre-surgical evaluation and post-surgical care in companion animal surgery.
  • Teaching: Assume a leadership position in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students, participate in instructing veterinarians at a postgraduate level, and foster the development of innovative educational strategies within this field.
  • Service: Engage actively in the University Hospital for Companion Animal Surgery service across both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery at both general and specialized levels.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Skilledly manage complex surgical patients throughout their perioperative and surgical phases, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  2. Develop and implement independent research projects and clinical studies within companion animal surgery, driving significant advancements in the field.
  3. Foster strategic partnerships with external researchers and private enterprises nationally and internationally, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
  4. Provide expert guidance and evaluation of undergraduate students' academic progress, contributing to their growth and development.
  5. Support administrative duties and continuing education initiatives, staying abreast of industry developments.
Essential Qualifications
  • DVM degree with a valid license to practice in Denmark or a willingness to apply for such within 6 months.
  • A strong track record of international publications in reputable journals.
  • Significant clinical experience in surgery from specialized companion animal practice or university veterinary teaching hospital settings.
