We invite applications for a Fermentation Scale-Up Specialist position at DTU Biosustain. As a member of our team, you will contribute to the development of novel methods and technologies using synthetic biology techniques. Your expertise in microbial fermentation, particularly scale-up, will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goals.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Transferring cell factories and bioprocesses through internal gate milestones
  • Developing robust bioprocesses for up-scaling and formulating strategies
  • Planning and running batch, fed-batch, and repeated batch cultivations for both bacteria and yeast on a pilot scale (up to 100L)
  • Interpreting data obtained during and after fermentation processes and establishing KPIs
  • Documenting work in cloud-based informatics platforms, including analysis and interpretation of the results and discoveries
  • Collaborating with chemical and process engineers to develop downstream separation and purification processes

You will work closely with a team of experienced professionals, including fermentation and downstream engineers, an analytical chemist, a technician, and the Pilot Plant Manager.
