The Department of Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Copenhagen is a young and dynamic research group specializing in advanced human experimental immunology. Our team of researchers, laboratory technicians, and students are committed to investigating the fundamental mechanisms of the human immune system.

Our group is focused on creating various human immune organoids to explore the complexities of the human immune system. This PhD project will focus on developing a human thymic organoid to study negative T cell selection and the induction of regulatory T cells in a human-specific context.

**Job Description**

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PhD researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out independent research under supervision, completing PhD courses or other equivalent education corresponding to approximately 30 ECTS points, participating in active research environments, and obtaining experience with teaching or other types of dissemination related to your PhD project.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**

">

Applicants must have qualifications corresponding to a master's degree related to the subject area of the project, e.g., Microbiology, Immunology, Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields. Please note that your master's degree must be equivalent to a Danish master's degree (two years). Other important criteria include ability to multi-task, fluency in written and spoken English, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and high level of self-motivation.

**Others**

Salary, pension, and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State. Depending on seniority, the monthly salary starts at approximately $29,191 DKK/Roughly $3,912 EUR (April 2024 level) plus pension.
