Job Description

This internship offers a unique opportunity for insight into our work and the chance to gain experience from an international professional environment. As a Policy Analyst and Communications Liaison, you will support our team in various tasks, including analysis on Finland's political landscape, ODA, and budget, as well as developing and publishing communications materials through social media channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis on Finland's political landscape, ODA, and budget
  • Support the development and publishing of communications materials through social media channels
  • Assist in planning and conducting public events such as conferences, seminars, and report launches
  • Translate news articles, media pitches, and other texts from Finnish to English and vice versa
  • Support the preparation of briefing material for seminars, meetings, and international visits
  • Perform administrative tasks

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills in English and Finnish, both written and oral
  • Strong interest in and knowledge of global development and the work of international organizations
  • Strong social media skills, knowledge of web publication tools, and graphic design tools like Canva
  • Team player with good organizational and time management skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Familiarity with the UN/UNDP and the Sustainable Development Goals is an asset

Eligibility

To be eligible for this internship, you must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (such as a master's program or higher)
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (such as a bachelor's degree or equivalent)
  • Have recently graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and start the internship within one year of graduation
  • Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program
