About the Position

Aarhus Universitet (AU) is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Social Resilience Lab. As an archaeological urban data analyst, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced analytical methods to investigate the fundamental forces governing urban systems' long-term dynamics.

The successful applicant will work closely with our interdisciplinary research team to analyze large-scale datasets from various historical periods, including the Roman Empire, Classic Mesoamerica, and Medieval Northern Europe. Your expertise in handling humanities, archaeological, or historical data to a high scientific standard will be essential in driving our research forward.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply advanced analytical methods to investigate urban resilience and its underlying factors
  • Analyze large-scale datasets from various historical periods using computational solutions
  • Work closely with our interdisciplinary research team to integrate your findings into the academic community
  • Contribute to the development of new research projects and collaborations

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in archaeology, history, or digital humanities, preferably with a specialization in data analysis and programming skills. If you have experience in working with GIS, Network Science, or other relevant fields, that would be a significant plus.
