Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Aquatic Ecosystems to lead our research field in marine biodiversity. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of research leadership, including visionary strategic development, building up an interdisciplinary research group, and attracting external research funding. The professor is expected to lead research on community-level marine biodiversity, from plankton to mammals, with a central focus on fish. A key focus is how biodiversity varies in space and time, and how it influences the functions of marine ecosystems. The goal is to describe how external pressures, including fisheries and climate change, impact biodiversity and ecosystem function. The research is expected to bridge from fundamental research towards improvement of the scientific advice regarding the impact of stressors on marine ecosystem dynamics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in a relevant field, such as marine ecology, statistics, or machine learning. We require a track record of research leadership, including visionary strategic development, building up an interdisciplinary research group, and attracting external research funding. The candidate should have experience in teaching at university level, including supervision of PhD students and postdocs. Additionally, we expect the candidate to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and to be fluent in English.
