Aarhus University invites applications for a prestigious position as Associate Professor in molecular autophagy. Located in Aarhus, Denmark, this full-time, fixed-term role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the department's research and teaching environment.

The successful candidate will join a vibrant community of researchers at the Department of Biomedicine, Faculty of Health. With a focus on LC3 proteins and their interactors, you will work collaboratively with Professor Fulvio Reggiori's group to advance our understanding of autophagy in health and disease.

As an expert in biochemical and biophysical assays, including differential scanning calorimetry, isothermal titration calorimetry, and NMR spectroscopy, you will design and optimize experiments to investigate protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions. Your expertise in structural biology, including protein crystallization, will also be valuable assets in this role.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled communicator who can effectively convey complex scientific concepts to students, colleagues, and partners. As a lecturer, you will teach and supervise Bachelor's and Master's degree students, contributing to the development of new teaching activities. You will also supervise PhD students and participate in the faculty's PhD courses.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Research of high international quality, including publication in top-tier journals and communication with national and international academic networks.
  • Teaching and supervision of students, with opportunities to develop new teaching activities.
  • Contributing to the funding of research projects through external grants.
  • Supervising PhD students and participating in the development of faculty PhD courses.
  • Integrating your research with that of Professor Reggiori's team and other faculty members.
  • Involvement in assessment and committee work at Aarhus University.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a base salary of approximately DKK 688,621.88 (approximately €92,000) per year, plus additional supplements based on experience and performance.
