Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet Full time
Job Description

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team in the Department of Chemistry.

This exciting opportunity lies within the field of materials chemistry, focusing on the use of X-ray scattering methods for characterizing atomic structure and understanding material synthesis pathways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and creative research in materials science using synchrotron techniques.
  • Develop and implement advanced models for scattering data analysis.
  • Collaborate with international colleagues and contribute to a cross-disciplinary research group.

Requirements:

  • PhD degree in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in synchrotron, neutron, or XFEL experiments.
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to write scientific papers at a high level.

About the Project

We are looking for an exceptional candidate to work on two cutting-edge projects: 1) using ultrafast X-ray scattering to study atomic scale structural changes during chemical synthesis of nanoparticles, and 2) investigating size/structure relations and formation mechanisms for disordered oxide nanomaterials and high entropy materials for electrocatalysis.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ground-breaking research, collaborate with talented colleagues, and develop your expertise in materials chemistry and X-ray scattering.
