About the Position

The successful candidate will be expected to work on developing key enabling technologies to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of structural digital representation, focusing on structural damage and failure assessment. They will also be responsible for using non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment to characterize damage state in composite materials and structures.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Develop numerical tools to create research impact on the wind energy industry
  2. Develop NDT procedures to be used at various test set-ups in laboratories
  3. Write papers for international scientific journals
  4. Supervise MSc students and thesis projects
  5. Supervise/co-supervise PhD-students
  6. Guide and supervise assistant professors and researchers
  7. Innovation and collaboration with industry

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Successful funding acquisition and project management experience
  • Publishing experience in the field of NDT of composite materials and/or structures
  • Experience in the use of one or more NDT techniques, such as thermography, ultrasound scanning, acoustic emission, and X-ray tomography
  • Leadership experience in the research context
  • Experimental work experience using sensor technologies
  • State-of-the-art digital technologies expertise, such as machine learning
