Research Opportunity
We invite highly motivated researchers to apply for a 3-year PhD scholarship in quantum computing for transportation applications. This project aims to explore the potential of quantum computing to address challenges in mobility and transportation systems, developing novel mathematical formulations and algorithms for efficient traffic network analysis and prediction.

Responsibilities and Expectations
The successful candidate will conduct systematic reviews of relevant mathematical formulations, identify potential modelling frameworks, and develop quantum mechanics-inspired mathematical formulations of quantum traffic models. They will also formulate and explore algorithms of quantum computing for traffic prediction and control, code implementation and validation, and collaborate with researchers from computer science and transportation in a truly interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates should hold a master's degree in applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field, with a strong background in physics, optimization techniques, and machine learning. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for collaboration with international researchers and industry partners.
