Nordic Regional Coordination Centre - A Key Player in the Green Energy Transition

We are seeking a highly skilled Power System Engineer to join our team at Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (RCC). As a key player in the green energy transition, we provide critical services and insights to support national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) in Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

Our goal is to ensure efficient operation and use of the Nordic power system, while maintaining high security of power supply at any time. We achieve this by developing and improving the Nordic Common Grid Model (CGM) and associated alignment data.

As a Power System Engineer in our Grid Modelling and Alignment team, you will engage in business process development, power system analyses, continuous quality improvements, and facilitating coordination with various stakeholders. You will handle both business process development and maintaining and continuous improvement of the Common Grid Model.

You will be part of a dedicated team consisting of power system engineers addressing various topics within grid modelling, business process development, and analytics. Your main responsibilities and tasks will include:

  • Grid model analysis in collaboration with end users of the grid models
  • Improving and maintaining data quality from a grid model point of view and from end users' perspective (capacity calculation, security analysis)
  • Providing grid modelling competence for various functions within the organization
  • Model testing of new functionality in load flow tool, as well as defining business requirements
  • Supporting TSOs in improving the representation and accuracy of their grid models
  • Coordination between TSOs, tooling vendors, and between Nordic RCC services
  • Participation in international development projects, e.g., with ENTSO-E
  • Developing tools used in operations and back-office

You will work closely with colleagues from different fields of expertise, both from Nordic RCC, Nordic TSOs, and other European RCCs and TSOs. Good understanding of data relations and systems for business processes running in operation is beneficial.

To succeed in this role, you should have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field with strong focus on power systems and electricity markets. Additionally, you should have strong competences working with data sets. Ideally, you have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in the industry.
