Data and AI: The Central Organisation


Data and AI is the driving force behind Schibsted Media's data platform, focusing on building innovative data and AI products with emphasis on volume, velocity, and privacy. These solutions serve the entire Schibsted Media group and its brands.



AI Services Team: Empowering Use Cases


The AI Services team within Data&AI develops and maintains machine learning models that drive various use cases in Schibsted, such as producing insights and analytics about customers, segmenting online advertising, and personalizing news content. We work extensively with big data from newspapers like VG, Aftenposten, Aftonbladet, Bergens Tidene, and explore new ways to enhance user experience by incorporating additional capabilities into our portfolio, including working with content data.



We're Looking for an Experienced ML Engineer


We seek an independent, goal-oriented ML Engineer who excels at working with Big Data. Our team follows a product-oriented mindset, collaborating closely with product management to find the best solutions for our internal stakeholders.



Your Responsibilities:



  • Contribute to analysis, design, development, training, evaluation, deployment, and refinement of ML-driven products to solve real-world problems
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team spanning data science, product management, and engineering to build prototypes and production-ready solutions
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and end-users to understand their needs, explain complex concepts simply, and provide education and support in ML matters
  • Provide guidance to junior team members


Our Technology Stack:


We employ a range of technologies, including Luigi/Spark/Scala, Flyte/PySpark/Python (with ongoing migration), Tensorflow, Pytorch, Docker, Kubernetes (as our primary platform for processing and services), and AWS (S3, EKS) as our cloud provider.



Requirements:



  • You hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a quantitative field
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience in the data science domain, with a deep understanding of AI and machine learning methods and algorithms
  • You possess excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex concepts simply, and convey solutions to both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • A strong foundation in Python programming, along with proficiency in Pandas, Transformers, Tensorflow/Keras, or Pytorch
  • Experience working with Spark, Databricks, or other big data technologies
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS (or another cloud provider)

Competitive Salary:


Based on your exceptional skills and experience, we offer a competitive salary range of €90,000 - €120,000 per annum, depending on your background and qualifications.
