Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior R&D Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for reducing emissions from ruminants.
About the Position
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, specifically in in vitro lab models, enzyme assays, and biochemical characterization of new enzyme candidates.
- The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a global team, driving R&D projects forward.
- They will have experience with oxidative enzyme reactions, methane mitigation, and enzyme development work, as well as basic understanding of rumen microbiology.
- The successful candidate will be motivated to contribute to the development of new products for more sustainable ruminant production.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and perform enzyme assays, biochemical characterization of new enzyme candidates, and evaluate their performance in rumen fluid.
- Apply primarily enzymes to reduce emissions from ruminants, leveraging expertise in oxidative enzyme reactions and methane mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance project goals, working with CROs and academic collaborators as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of all R&D activities in the area through literature review and industry networking.
- Review data and analytical results, prepare reports and visuals, and communicate them effectively to internal and external users, including customers.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in biochemistry or related field with 3-6 years of research experience, preferably in an industry research lab.
- Experience with ruminants, oxidative enzyme reactions, methane mitigation, enzyme development work, or related scientific fields, along with basic understanding of rumen microbiology.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and think creatively to achieve set goals, showcasing originality in developing innovative solutions for the livestock industry.
