DFM, Denmark's National Metrology Institute, seeks talented scientists to join the Quantum Materials (QMAT) team. This team is dedicated to ensuring precision, accuracy, and innovation in measurement science, playing a crucial role in shaping Denmark's position as a leader in the global quantum landscape.
The QMAT team specializes in developing advanced materials for quantum technologies, with a focus on III-V/Si-Ge growths, cleanroom device fabrication, and high-vacuum equipment operation and maintenance. Successful candidates will have hands-on experience in these areas and be able to operate state-of-the-art facilities.
We are seeking motivated candidates for Scientist/Senior Scientist positions in the QMAT team. These full-time permanent positions offer the opportunity to engage in groundbreaking research and development of quantum materials and devices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Growth and fabrication of high-quality III-V/Si-Ge materials and superconductors for quantum computing, primarily using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE).
- In-situ lithography and extensive in-situ and ex-situ characterization.
- Operation and maintenance of high-vacuum equipment and technologies.
- Advanced material characterization using tools such as scanning probe/electron microscopy, EDX, optical microscopy, and TEM.
- For senior roles: project management, grant applications, and project leadership.
To be eligible, candidates must hold a PhD in Physics, Quantum Technology, Material Science, or a relevant Engineering field. Senior positions require proven academic experience or an industrial track record.
Successful candidates will have excellent communication and collaboration skills and be proficient in programming and basic simulation. Experience with machine learning and AI for materials discovery will be an advantage.
We offer a dynamic working environment where you can engage in cutting-edge research and collaborate with highly qualified colleagues. To apply, please send your application, including a cover letter and CV, by February 28th, 2025.
