Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced administrator to join our team as an Academic Programme Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Social Resilience Lab, ensuring the smooth operation of our research projects and programmes.

This is a full-time position available from January 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administration, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Role

The Administrative Coordinator for Research Excellence will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Social Resilience Lab. This includes coordinating events, managing budgets, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing new software management tools and pipelines used by the centre.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of innovative research projects and programmes. You will be responsible for facilitating the administration of the centre, including staff onboarding, project management, and continuous support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate events, conferences, and workshops
  • Manage budgets, accounts, and financial reports
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation
  • Implement and support the use of new software management tools and pipelines
  • Facilitate research staff and PIs, including assistance with travel administration, social activities, and support funding application preparation
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., management, administration)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role involving administrative support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with university organisation and mode of work
  • Experience with networking across research environments and institutions
