Our Team

As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you'll report to the Cloud Platform Engineering Manager. We have a cloud-first strategy, and you'll have the opportunity to contribute to technology and tooling decision-making processes in our team.

The Cloud Platform Engineering team is responsible for creating, organizing, stabilizing, and optimizing on-prem and cloud infrastructure in Unzer. We help teams across the organization create reliable and high-availability architecture.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll work with Terraform in AWS/GCP clouds.
  • You'll be responsible for installing and administering Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases.
  • You'll gather system requirements, working together with application architects and owners.
  • You'll discover standard cloud services offerings, install, and execute processes and standards for optimal use of cloud service provider offerings.
  • You'll debug database performance as needed, following best practices.
  • You'll participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with databases in production.
  • You should understand and write clean, readable Terraform code.
  • AWS and GCP knowledge is a plus.
  • You should have some understanding of Linux, networking concepts, and programming skills to write automation (Python or Golang, Bash).
