Research Scientist, Diabetes Pharmacology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our Diabetes Pharmacology team at Novo Nordisk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting pre-clinical in vivo pharmacology studies in pigs to validate targets, mature targets, and understand modes of action.
Key Responsibilities- Design, coordinate, and execute in vivo pharmacology studies in pigs
- Ensure experiments are conducted in compliance with internal and external guidelines
- Analyse and report data of pre-clinical in vivo pharmacology studies
- Communicate findings and implications of in vivo data to internal teams and external partners
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research objectives and strategies
- Continuously focus on development and improvement of our in vivo pharmacology models
To be successful in this role, you will have a M.Sc. in Pharmacology, Biology, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field with some relevant experience or a Ph.D. in the mentioned fields.
- Experience with conducting in vivo pharmacology experiments in pigs
- Preferably, knowledge of diabetes physiology and pharmacology and familiarity with clamp experiments in large animals
- Strong analytical skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions, ensuring continuous improvement in pharmaceutical processes and products
- Proficiency in working with diverse teams to drive projects forward and achieve common goals
- Strong communication skills to convey complex scientific data and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making
You will join Diabetes Pharmacology, which is part of Integrated Physiology Research within Global Drug Discovery in Novo Nordisk. Our department delivers high-quality rodent and large animal in vivo data with a translational focus within diabetes and drives ideation based on scientific excellence within diabetes physiology. We collaborate closely with our colleagues within Integrated Physiology Research, In vitro Biology, Global Research Technology, Global Translation, and beyond to drive projects forward and translate our findings into novel and effective treatments for diabetes.
