Postdoctoral Researcher in Parasite Immunology

We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences. The successful candidate will be part of the Parasites, Immunology and Gut Health (PIGH) group, which focuses on understanding the interactions between dietary components, the gut microbiota, and type-2 immunity at mucosal surfaces.
The postdoctoral researcher will work on different projects within the group, exploring how the gut environment shapes type-2 immunity. This will involve carrying out research involving dietary manipulations, breeding, and experimental parasite infections of mice, as well as some in vitro work with organoids and/or cell lines. The researcher will also be responsible for extensive immunological analyses, such as multiparameter flow cytometry and single-cell RNA-sequencing, as well as analyses of microbiome composition and mucosal barrier function.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in parasitology or immunology and experience with experimental animal models, immunology techniques, and peer-reviewed publications. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in teams are also essential.
The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2 years. The start date is negotiable, but the position is expected to commence as soon as possible.
