About the Position:

This PhD scholarship is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on the sustainability of the construction sector. You will work closely with our team of experts to develop innovative solutions for the circular economy of biobased materials, focusing on wood and its applications. Your research will contribute significantly to the integration of circular economy principles into climate mitigation models.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of biobased materials and their circular economy applications.
  • Actively disseminate your results through high-impact scientific articles and international conferences.
  • Develop expertise through courses that align with the project's objectives.
  • Translate research outcomes into practical teaching materials and participate in teaching activities as a teaching assistant.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in environmental engineering, statistics, or data science, or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience with concepts of biobased materials, particularly wood, some of wood circular economy options, and sustainability.
  • Familiarity with large datasets management, preferably with modeling, statistical, or LCA background.
  • Knowledge of material flow analysis, life cycle assessment modeling, social-LCA, and/or life cycle cost modeling.
  • Excellent scientific writing and publication skills at the international journal level.
