About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Humanitarian Response Lead to join our team in Kirumba, Democratic Republic of Congo. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for implementing our protection program and ensuring its successful execution.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement our protection program scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure the adaptability of our program to the operational context and develop tools and project implementation approaches under the supervision of the Programmes department.
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of activities and ensure project performance as defined in the project proposal and according to the distribution of roles in liaison with support services.
  • Monitor administrative follow-up and ensure that project activities are implemented according to plan.
  • Coordinate Protection and Shelter and NFI activities, ensuring the highest protection mainstreaming standards throughout project implementation.
  • Establish contacts and operational links with local authorities and humanitarian actors involved in the project for activity implementation under the supervision of the Area Manager.
  • In coordination with MEAL teams, establish an accountability system adapted to the project context.
  • Contribute to needs assessments to inform program design and strategic direction.

Requirements:

  • University degree or Advanced University degree (Master's degree) in a relevant field such as political science, human rights, humanitarian project management, social work, international law, or international development.
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in the Protection field working for an INGO.
  • Experience in Protection Monitoring, Case Management, Community Based Protection, and/or GBV.
  • 2 years of practical experience in humanitarian multi-sectoral activity management, including distributions.
  • Proven working experience in conflict and displacement affected areas.
  • 3 years' experience with people management and project management.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for external audiences.
  • Experience in producing high-quality technical material such as training material, program tools, proposals, strategic documents, etc.
  • Experience working with Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Experience working with national partners, local/government authorities, and UN agencies.
  • Full professional proficiency in French; English is an asset.
  • Reactivity and flexibility, excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills, stress management in an isolated context with potentially precarious living conditions, autonomy, motivation, dynamism, and team spirit.
