Research and Development Position in Radar Applications

We are looking for a talented Research and Development Position in Radar Applications to join our team at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI). As a key member of our Weather Research Department, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing new radar-based precipitation research initiatives that support internal and external product development. Your primary focus will be on enhancing radar data processing, analysis, and visualization techniques, as well as collaborating with our IT teams to integrate these innovations into our existing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing advanced radar data processing algorithms
- Collaborating with researchers and developers to integrate new radar-based technologies
- Developing and maintaining software tools for radar data analysis and visualization
- Working closely with IT teams to ensure seamless system integration
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you should possess a strong background in geophysics, remote sensing, computer science, or a related field, along with significant experience in radar data processing, machine learning, and high-performance computing. Excellent communication and teamwork skills are also essential. Additionally, proficiency in UNIX environments, Python, C, Git, bash/shell scripting, docker, and Ansible is highly desirable.
