Senior Research Fellow in Chemical Ecology of Microorganisms

We are searching for a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral researcher that joins our 'soil microbiome' team, supervised by Prof. Tilmann Weber (DTU Biosustain) and working closely with Prof. Ling Ding (DTU Bioengineering). As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team focusing on the chemical ecology of microbial secondary metabolites. Your main responsibility will be to identify and characterize bioactive metabolites and their biosynthetic gene clusters from actinomycetes isolated from our CeMiSt sampling sites in Dyrehaven.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments and develop new methods for identifying and characterizing bioactive metabolites and their biosynthetic gene clusters.
- Analyze data and interpret results in the context of the research project.
- Collaborate with colleagues at CeMiSt to survey the available literature and formulate own scientific hypotheses and questions.
Qualifications
- PhD degree in a relevant field, such as natural products, chemical ecology, or molecular biology.
- Experience with bioactive compound isolation and characterization, particularly with respect to actinomycetes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
