Unlocking Future Potential in Wind Turbine Design
Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is committed to driving innovation in green energy solutions. As a visionary leader, you will spearhead the development of cutting-edge turbine blades that meet and exceed technical requirements.
About the Role
In this key position within our Blades Structural Design Department, you will assume product ownership during design and prototype phases. Your responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating innovative technical solutions to ensure products meet and maintain rigorous technical standards throughout their lifecycle.
- Leading the development team in advanced blade structure design, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Aligning with chief engineers on major technical decisions, facilitating solutions that meet demanding design objectives.
- Leveraging a value chain approach to optimize products, driving collaboration across business areas.
- Establishing a clear understanding of design drivers and structured approaches to push boundaries.
- Contributing to calculation methods and tools development, enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
- Projecting resources for new developments, ensuring timely and effective project execution.
- Evaluating structural analysis reports for wind turbine blades certification process, guaranteeing compliance.
- Driving failure mode analysis (D-FMEA), identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have an engineering background with expertise in composite material sciences and structural mechanics.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
- Proven experience in composite design and structural mechanics.
Competencies
- Self-motivated with high accountability.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to travel to wind turbine factories and farms, fostering collaboration.
- Capacity to work effectively in multicultural environments.
This role demands excellent English language skills, both written and verbal, as well as a structured approach to work, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and drive projects independently.
