As a Data Scientist for Climate Modeling, you will be working with our team to develop and implement advanced climate modeling techniques.
This includes designing, testing, and deploying software solutions that support our operational and research activities.
You will work closely with our IT departments to streamline synergies and data flows, collaborating with numerical weather prediction researchers and hydrologists to ensure seamless radar and model blending and validation.
About the Job
This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong programming skills, a geoscience background, and excellent communication skills. We seek a candidate who can work independently and as part of a team, contributing to our mission to provide accurate and reliable weather forecasts and warnings.
- MSc or PhD degree in Data Science, Meteorology, or related field
- Programming skills in UNIX environment, experience with Python, C, Git, bash/shell scripting, docker, and ansible
- Strong knowledge of machine learning, high-performance computing, forecasting, and model-data integration
- Good written and verbal English communication skills
