Senior Hardware Developer for embedded designs

As a hardware developer in EMRI, you will be working closely together with the mechanical and software teams to help bring our next generation steering control system portfolio to market.
EMRI is a rapidly growing maritime technology company. We develop control and navigation systems for large ships and are leaders in our field. EMRI's systems ensure precise navigation and thus better utilization of the ships' fuel, leading to reduction of fuel emissions. That is something we are proud of.
We are revamping our entire product portfolio and developing the maritime steering control systems of the future. At the same time we are growing our retrofit business.

The Role
You will be member of the hardware team, participating in all phases of development, from idea to production.
You will be a part of designing our new modular hardware platform spanning from display panels, embedded processors and industrial specialized IO modules. We are working with everything from Analog IO to Embedded ARM design and using various serial communication standards such as serial, USB, Ethernet and CAN-bus.
About You
You hold a bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering. You can work independently, structured and have a solution-oriented approach to projects. Furthermore, you are focused, energetic and see strength in knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- Experience with EMC Testing and/or Type Approval certification is a must.
- Knowledge of processor architecture, digital circuit design, analogue circuit design and various low speed communications protocols such as I2C, UART, SPI, CAN-bus.
- Schematic and Layout in Altium.
- MCU design and board bring up.
- SMPS design/specification including Power and Thermal management.
- Electronics hands-on troubleshooting.
- Design for EMC compatibility.
It is a plus if you have:
- Worked with maritime systems before or another regulated industry.
- Experience working with high-speed digital PCB design, impedance-controlled layout for DDR RAM, PCIe, Ethernet, USB and TMDS.
- Basic firmware knowledge for MCU bring-up and testing.
