Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Nordic RCC Full time 100,000 - 150,000 per year

Do you want to help shape the future of Europe's energy system and contribute to a fully carbon-neutral, sustainable power grid? Are you a data governance professional with a passion for developing and implementing robust frameworks and processes? Do you enjoy working in a collaborative, explorative environment alongside power engineers, IT experts, and developers?

We're looking for a Data Governance Manager to join our Data Governance function at Nordic RCC. If you're ready to lead data governance in a dynamic, mission-driven organization, we'd love to hear from you.

About Nordic RCC
Nordic RCC is a fast-growing company supporting the national Transmission System Operators (TSOs) of Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. We provide regional power system planning data and security analysis to ensure efficient operation of the Nordic power grid and a high level of security of supply—every hour of every day.

The Role

As Data Governance Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of data governance practices across Nordic RCC. You'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, secure, and accessible — supporting both operational excellence and the green energy transition. Nordic RCC is data driven by design, and the Data Governance Manager works across several functions including Data and Analytics, Enterprise Architecture, Security Risk and Compliance as well as the business and Operational Information security.

Key Responsibilities

Ownership of Data Governance

  • Develop, implement, and manage data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
  • Define and formalize data governance roles within Nordic RCC.
  • Maintain and evolve the data governance framework and ecosystem.
  • Lead the rollout of data governance practices across the organization.
  • Act as point of escalation for data governance-related issues.
  • Oversee data protection practices, ensuring compliance with national security laws and internal protocols for the energy sector.
  • Own, oversee and develop Nordic RCC procedure for governing information assets.
  • Support internal and external audits, conduct regular data audits, and generate reports to assess effectiveness and identify improvements.
  • Ownership of asset management/data catalog system to support data governance processes.

Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with IT, legal, and business units to align data governance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure governance is embedded in the design of new services and processes.
  • Analyze issues in existing data-related processes and develop contingency plans.
  • Serve as single point of contact for external stakeholders on data governance topics.
  • Educate and support staff on governance policies, best practices, and tools.
  • Drive cross-function collaboration on specific initiatives such as a new SharePoint solution, or green-field exploration of usage of a future on-prem LLM solution for data governance.
  • Drive Nordic data governance collaboration in selected areas.

Qualifications
Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks (e.g., DMBOK), data quality management, data architecture and data security principles.
  • Hands-on experience of working with metadata management.
  • Familiarity with data management tools and technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy sector data regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Strong management and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple priorities and projects.
  • Flexible and open to change, with a proactive mindset.
  • Knowledge of power systems and the energy sector is a plus.
