Student Assistant roles

We're currently looking for two Student Assistants to join our team starting January 15, 2026.

Are you…?

• Based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
• Open to work 15-20 hours/week (with flexibility on which days you are present at the office).
• Available to work full-time on program execution from June 15 – July 10, 2025.
• Ready to commit to being part of the UNLEASH team for a significant period of your study time.
• Familiar with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, innovation, entrepreneurship, human-centered design-thinking or youth-driven projects.
• Energetic, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Every year, we bring together young people from across the world for Innovation Labs, organize dozens of local hacks with our community, and equip youth with innovation skills through our Innovation Hub.

UNLEASH has engaged 9,000 young people from 180 countries and facilitated the development of 1,200 purpose-driven solutions with +1000 partners. Since 2017, UNLEASH has run innovation programs in 70+ locations, including Innovation Labs in Denmark, Singapore, China, Greenland, India, Rwanda, Brazil, and the Philippines

We aim to ensure every aspiring young changemakers – especially those from underrepresented backgrounds, sectors, and communities – can participate in our programs regardless of socio-economic background.

Since 2016, UNLEASH has worked to create a vibrant and diverse global community, which we aspire to reflect in our own Secretariat. Today the UNLEASH Secretariat consists of a small, agile team of 6 staff members spanning 6 different nationalities, mainly based in Copenhagen, Denmark. The Student Assistants will be based in our Copenhagen office.

Roles and responsibilities

The Student Assistant positions will be for 15-20 hours/week each, with flexibility on which days you are present at the office to allow for other commitments such as class attendance and exams.

There will be some flexibility with each role depending on your interests and previous experience, but some of the work each role will be working on will be:

Communications Student Assistant

• Co-create communications strategy based on current trends in the innovation and sustainability space.
• Draft and schedule social media and blog posts based on communications strategy.
• Edit videos for different purposes (incl. social media updates, content about innovation for our e-learning Innovation Hub).
• Support on website maintenance.
• Prepare communication materials for different stakeholders (participants, partners, Facilitators ...)

Programs Student Assistant

• Supporting the planning and execution of UNLEASH programs and activities, including coordination with facilitators, participants, and other stakeholders.
• Assisting with logistical preparation before, during and after program implementation, such as creating materials, schedules, communication with stakeholders, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL).
• Contributing to content development for program sessions, workshops, and events in collaboration with the Programs workstream.
• Engaging in other daily ad-hoc and administrative tasks related to program delivery.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates that:

• Are enrolled in higher education, preferably at BA level or at the beginning of your MA in the relevant fields for each position.
• Sees themselves as committed to being part of the UNLEASH team for a significant period of their study time.
• Have previous experience or knowledge about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, innovation, entrepreneurship, user-centered design-thinking or youth-driven projects.
• Have a global outlook and is used to engaging in multi-cultural and highly diverse working environments.
• Have solid analytical and IT-skills.
• Are energetic, curious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
