Core Responsibilities
In this new position as Senior Metrology Engineer, you will help establish the future foundation and strategy for our CT globalization journey in the LEGO Group. Furthermore, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring that our development projects in the Engineering and Quality (E&Q) departments are successfully supported on their CT needs throughout the maturation, iteration, and final approval of LEGO Bricks (elements). More specifically, you will
- Build, influence and implement our future CT foundation across LEGO Operations, including measuring strategies and key capabilities.
- Resolve complex CT scanning tasks for E&Q, e.g. development projects and qualification flows.
- Conduct stakeholder dialogues on technical analysis, challenges and improvement opportunities.
- Become a key driver of learning and collaboration in our global CT community.
- Apply your strong Six Sigma skills and conduct MSA – CPK analyses when needed.
- Advocate for knowledge sharing among key stakeholders and partners.
Play your part in our team succeeding
You will join the Element & Mould Validation (EMV) Verification team in Billund, consisting of 12 highly skilled colleagues focused on metrology, qualification and CT scanning. The team safeguards and develops the validation foundation by ensuring robust, repeatable, and reliable measurements on all element designs. Its key role is to consistently deliver reliable validated measuring data to our partners to ensure the right decisions toward approval of new moulds.
The tolerances in LEGO building system are very narrow, where microns could mean the difference between good or poor functionality. The measurements used are weight, functional assessments and physical measures performed on both manual equipment and automated technologies such as CMM, One touch, etc. The team's core function is to stay in control of our different measuring systems and understand our variance and uncertainty.
Do you have what it takes?
The ideal candidate has as minimum an engineering bachelor's degree within quality, manufacturing, mechanics or equivalent. In addition, you have
- 3+ years of experience working with 3D metrology technologies and measuring standards in a manufacturing environment, preferably from toolmaking and/or plastic industry.
- Proven experience with Industrial Computed Tomography and image processing.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Six Sigma, specific on variance and MSA-CPK analysis.
- Knowledge of programming 3D equipment, preferably Zeiss Calyposo software.
- Skills in data analysis and statistical tools related to metrology
- Strong attention to details, always with right quality in focus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross functional and diverse engineering environment.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
