What you'll do

The Senior Backend Developer will be an integral part of our Conversational Intelligence team, who are currently based in our Aarhus office.

The Conversational Intelligence product turns large volumes of unstructured customer conversations into structured, actionable insights through advanced AI and scalable backend systems. Every interaction is processed, transcribed, and analysed to uncover trends such as long calls, repeat contacts, and potential churn risks.

Presenting these insights in a meaningful way requires robust data processing pipelines, flexible APIs, and well-designed service architecture. As part of the team, you'll work on building and evolving these systems — ensuring that insights are accurate, performant, and seamlessly available to end-users, enabling continuous improvement and stronger customer relationships with every conversation

It's important to mention that this is an individual contributor role with no direct reports, so we're looking for hands on developers at a senior level.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services powering our Conversational Intelligence product.
• Develop and evolve data pipelines, APIs, and integrations that enable AI-driven speech and text analytics.
• Collaborate closely with product, AI, and frontend teams to deliver performant and reliable features.
• Balance pragmatic short-term delivery needs with long-term product and architectural goals.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that supports high availability and rapid iteration.
• Participate in system architecture discussions, contributing to design decisions and technical direction.
• Continuously explore and apply new technologies to improve performance, scalability, and developer experience.

The Must Haves

• 5 years of backend development experience working on an in-house SaaS product, in a backend or fullstack capacity.
• Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed systems or data-heavy applications.
• Strong proficiency in C# or another modern backend language such as TypeScript or Java.
• Solid understanding of system design, API development, and microservice architecture.
• Effective communication skills in English and a collaborative mindset.
• A passion for creating innovative, AI-powered products that deliver real business value.

The Nice to Haves

• Experience with technologies such as .NET Core, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, or Redis.
• Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or similar.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and distributed processing.
• Knowledge of modern tools for development like Cursor, Co-pilot and similar.
• Experience/knowledge of Product Operating Model
• Understanding of data security, compliance, and performance optimisation in production environments.

The location

Aarhus or Arendal.

The team typically go in 2-3 days/week, with the rest working from home; the office is there 5 days/week if so desired
