In the Social Responsibility team (SR), we're focused on creating meaningful impact for children in our communities – online and offline – and creating value for the LEGO Group. As the head of the Global Initiatives team, you will play a critical role in leading a team responsible for developing global social impact initiatives, including content as well as ensuring globally aligned implementation. This role is dependent upon a close and inclusive collaboration with all teams across SR and the wider LEGO Group, as well as with external partners. This will ensure our initiatives are impactful for communities and the LEGO Group alike, fit for implementation across regions and in line with ONE Social Impact Strategy (OSIS) and the Social Responsibility Aspiration.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and lead the development and global delivery of a portfolio of social impact initiatives. This will include a combination of
- Delivery of existing programs to meet external important metrics, including number of children impacted.
- Development of new social impact initiatives through a series of approved OSIS pilots that build on existing programs and knowledge.
- Be responsible for the transition from existing to new social impact initiatives, in line with OSIS. Across all, ensure and/or create impactful and scalable initiatives for implementation across regions, within relevant global LEGO Group functions and the wider LEGO ecosystem. This will involve taking a co-creative and inclusive approach with SR LT, SR regional teams, LEGO Group teams, and external partners.
- Lead the development of content, e.g., playbooks, guidelines, and concept material, for initiative implementation in regions, global functions and the wider LEGO ecosystem, taking a co-creative and inclusive approach to ensure fit and relevance in local and functional contexts.
- Ensure our initiatives are impactful by design, in line with existing SR MEL framework and ensure they are creating shared value and delivering on critical metrics.
- Working closely with the Strategic Portfolio & Operations team and ensure
- Timely input into annual planning process including delivery of annual plan, forecasting and target setting, budget, and headcounts. This also includes reporting on critical metrics and budget as per LEGO Group annual processes.
- Ensure smooth grant processes with the LEGO Foundation from concept to reporting .
- Supervise partnerships with key external partners specific to global programmatic initiative delivery as well as key internal teams, such as e.g., LEGO Education and the Brand team.
- Through exemplary partner engagement and management, within and beyond SR to ensure initiatives deliver impact for both communities and the business. In addition, ensure close collaboration across SR across the following teams
- Regional SR teams on innovation and implementation fit for local contexts),
- Child Rights & Safety team on children's rights and safety (digital and non-digital), digital parenting and wellbeing, and children's agency initiative pilot (co-ownership).
- Employee Play Engagement team on LtP and World Play Day but also beyond SR, to ensure business value.
- Manage, develop, and build the Global Initiatives team to enable SR to deliver on OSIS and the SR Aspiration.
- As part of the SR Leadership Team, contribute to setting direction for SR as one team, and help us deliver on OSIS and the SR Aspiration.

This role is dependent upon a close and inclusive collaboration with the SI LT and all teams across Social Responsibility as well as teams such as Global Brand, LEGO Education, Government & Public Affairs, D&I, Corporate Brand Communication etc. to ensure there is agreement to and our portfolio aligns with strategic direction, that our work is impactful, creating shared value for communities and the LEGO Group alike, and that the operational support is consistently improved.
Do you have what it takes?
- Seasoned leader with experience working in a global organization (corporate) and with experience in managing and inspiring a team of initiative specialists in a global context.
- Global social impact program development and management experience from a global business with proven track record of innovating, developing, delivering and evaluating impactful global initiatives and enabling local contextualization and implementation.
- Strong partner management skills to work holistically across own team, other business functions and with external partners.
