The Clinical Operations Budget Specialist is responsible for supporting clinical project teams with financial oversight of study budgets, forecasts and vendor related costs. This role ensures accurate tracking of trial expenses and delivers clear financial insights that help guide operational decisions.
As part of our SRS FSP team, you will be dedicated to one sponsor, a biotechnology company that is an industry leader in early phase to late phase clinical development.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the master study budget Excel file including scenarios and actuals vs forecast
- Monitor vendor costs, site payments and FTE allocations across assigned clinical studies
- Provide budget support to project leaders including variance analysis and cost projections
- Prepare simple financial reports, KPI summaries and ad hoc financial analysis
- Liaise with vendors and internal teams regarding budget questions and change order updates
- Support process improvements within clinical operations financial tracking
Qualifications
- Experience in clinical trial budgeting or project controlling within biotech or pharma
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and advanced formulas. Power Query or VBA is a plus
- Good understanding of vendor contracts, clinical trial cost drivers and forecasting
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
- Comfortable working independently with part time hours
- Experience in small biotech or start up environments is an advantage
